Reflector-based compact range system

In a compact range system, the spherical wave front is transformed into a plane wave with a collimating element in a short distance, to meet far-field measurement requirements. A compact range system is important testing equipment for radar antenna testing, weapons scattering properties measurement and so on. Research on compact range is important for development in communications, national defense, aerospace and other fields.

There are three basic types of compact range systems: reflector-based, lens-based and hologram-based. Reflector-based compact range systems are the most sophisticated and the most widely used in the regular microwave band. Their universal application and advanced technology have been accepted worldwide. As the core component of a reflector-based compact range system, the reflector demands high surface accuracy to ensure excellent electrical performance. With test frequency increasing, greater surface accuracy of the reflector is required. Radsys has discovered how to reduce manufacturing costs while still maintaining high accuracy for the continued development of reflector-based compact range technology.
