The vibration transmission characteristics of engine mounts, and in particular the dynamic stiffness, are of key importance to noise and vibration engineers. There is an increasing demand for higher test frequencies.
m+p international has developed several high-frequency test rigs to characterise elastomer mounts dynamically up to 3,000Hz. They are equipped with either an electrodynamic shaker or a piezoelectric actuator. The purpose of these high-frequency test rigs is to determine dynamic stiffness using a static preload. All settings and measurements are written up into a results file, together with data from the self-check. These files can be analysed directly on completion of the test, or used for later analysis, data export, or to generate plots or reports.
