Patented test bench heats air and gasses up to 1100°C with zero emissions
Kanthal

Kanthal will present its test bench heating system, the Kanthal Flow Heater, that matches the performance of gas heaters while enabling zero CO2 and NOX emissions at point of use

Tried and tested natural gas burners are held in high regard in automotive testing as they provide high temperatures and high power density, which is what new materials and compact engine designs require. But now there’s a smarter – greener way to go.

Kanthal has unveiled a test bench heating system that matches the performance of gas heaters with one key difference: it enables zero CO2 and NOX emissions at point of use. It’s called the Kanthal Flow Heater. This electrically powered system can heat up air or other gases up to 1100°C with an accuracy of +/- 1°C.

With its patented technology, the Kanthal Flow Heater allows for wide load flexibility and gas velocities up to 150 m/s. Whether testing EGR coolers, turbo chargers, manifolds or other components in the exhaust line, this pollution-free alternative helps professionals meet first class environmental standards.

The Kanthal Flow Heater can be supplied within the power range 3,5-40 kW. Customized models are also available that include accessories such as control cabinets and blowers.
