2007 Review
Knockout success for fifth year running!
Celebrating its fifth year in Novi, Michigan, Automotive Testing Expo North America opened its doors to the test and development community, with a plethora of new products to be seen and large numbers of visitors who were keen to talk to exhibiting companies about major new innovations and concepts for the future. Tony Robinson, CEO of UKIP Media & Events – the company that organizes Automotive Testing Expo North America – hosted a hugely popular Celebration Dinner, giving guests the chance to entertain key clients.
Some of the new technology announcements:-
Thermotron announced an addition to its electrodynamic shaker line-up: the DSX-2250. Featuring a 12in diameter magnesium armature providing acceleration up to 100g, the unit is rated at 2,250lbft for sine and random tests and features superior shock performance for low-frequency, high-displacement tests.
A battery-powered, hand-held data acquisition system was launched by Crystal Instrument Corporation at Automotive Testing Expo North America. It is ideal for a wide range of real-time signal analysis functions. Equipped with four or eight input channels, the CoCo-80 can accurately measure and record dynamic and static signals and has a mass memory that can record eight channels of streaming signals simultaneously up to 102.4kHz.
It wasn’t just new products that were launched in Novi; Meiden America announced the establishment of Meiden Technical Center North America, located in a 78,000ft² facility in Northville Township. The facility will offer test and engineering services, as well as test systems with new advanced technologies for the development of next-generation gasoline and diesel powertrains.
What the exhibitors said:
“We find this show fantastic and it gets better every year! We have been successful in getting six contracts that we would just not have got without Automotive Testing Expo North America.”
