Real-time simulation of fuel cell EV dynamics
FEV Software and Testing Solutions

Fuel Cell Engine in the Loop (FCEIL) is an application of the X-in-the-Loop (XIL) platform. XIL enables the user to simulate, in real-time, the dynamics of a fuel cell electric vehicle and its driver on component test benches or powertrain benches.

FCEIL can validate and pre-calibrate the powertrain ECUs in power level on the fuel cell engine test bench without the real vehicle available. It models all the physical components of the fuel cell electric vehicle and road (e.g. the high voltage battery, e-motor, tires, chassis, thermal management system and its driver).

FCEIL is enhanced by a powerful co-simulation platform – xMOD. This platform allows the user to: optimize complex model execution by model distribution over multicore and intelligent multisolver and multistep computation; extend simulation use to non-experts thanks to user-friendly interfaces; and ensure continuity in each phase of X-in-the-Loop.
