Virtual powertrain calibration

Visitors looking for another way to save on real-world powertrain testing costs should check out FEV’s vCAP. The Virtual Powertrain Calibration Platform (vCAP) can validate and pre-calibrate a powertrain ECU virtually or on a HIL testbed instead of on the engine testbed, the vehicle testbed or on the road. The system models all the physical elements that normally form part of a testbed or a road test. This can include components such as the engine with its air loop and exhaust gas aftertreatment system, but also the complete vehicle and its driver. By combining statistical and physical models, vCAP can create a dynamic engine model in the MORPHEE-based software environment.
