Sine-on-random development testing tool
Vibration Research
Vibration Research released its Sine Tracking, Analysis and Generation (STAG) tool to provide hassle-free development of an accurate Sine-on-Random (SoR) test. The STAG tool was developed for devices exposed to a vibration environment with one or more rotational components, such as engines. A standard random test cannot properly replicate this rotational energy, so an SoR test must be employed. However, the commonly used SoR test development methods could be improved, which led Vibration Research to refine the SoR test development process – and in doing so help engineers create a test profile with minimal processing time and error.
The STAG tool is used to create an SoR test with recorded time history data. Vibration Research’s ObserVIEW and VibrationVIEW software packages are essential to the STAG test development process. The software is used in combination to analyze the time-history recordings and generate an SoR test.
