Reliable high-voltage test and measurement for e-mobility
Knick Elektronische Messgeräte

High-voltage components, such as power electronics, heaters and electric propulsion axles, must be checked for function and safety during development and series production. Knick will showcase a wide range of high-voltage transducers that are suitable for test equipment in high electrical potential environments. Many components have to be tested under load, requiring highly dynamic processes with simulation/emulation of the powertrain.

Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing is particularly challenging as it requires fast and precise measured value transmission and galvanic isolation on both the input and output sides. The P42,000 high-voltage transducer converts voltages up to 3,600V DC, galvanically isolated into standard output signals of ±20mA, ±10V or 4-20mA. Its slim, stackable housing is space-saving in limited-control cabinets.

Voltage monitoring of test cells is possible with Knick's P52,000VPD voltage presence detector. The sensor detects voltage continuously and outputs a signal when a parameterizable threshold value is reached, ensuring the guarded test cell can only be entered when dangerously high voltages are no longer present.

Overall, Knick's solutions provide fast and reliable measurement and isolation for components up to 4,800V DC, meeting the demands of the trend in e-mobility toward higher system voltages of several hundred to 1,500V DC.
