Test rig control and data acquisition in one package

To keep testing running smoothly in the Industry 4.0 era, Stiegele Datensysteme will showcase the most recent, 4.0 version of its modular software package sd.TestWare for measurements and test rigs. The graphical user interface (GUI) and the data acquisition and control components of the system have been separated programmatically. As a result, a user can log on to multiple measuring and test rig systems at a time. Likewise, several users can monitor and control one system.
As part of sd.TestWare, Stiegele has developed sd.TestLab, an MSR 4.0 application that is based on intelligent digital network systems, similar to IoT. The software is not specific to any I/O hardware – it is made to support all commonly used devices.
The GUI is used for the experiment definition and to view and control the test run. The separate, autonomous real-time kernel is responsible for the actual setpoint specification, data acquisition, online calculation and data storage. Both parts of the program can run on different systems, communicating via Ethernet or locally, on the same PC.
For the latest version, the public interfaces were expanded. Additional to the proven COM automation, the applications now also include interfaces to the Python programming language. In future, the system can be extended with its own drivers and modules for action, graphics and calculation. Apart from data acquisition and control capabilities, the sd.TestWare 4.0 suite also includes tools for setpoint generation, the definition of complex tests, and for data analysis.
