Emergency braking simulation
MESSRING Systembau MSG GmbH - Stand: 8260

The heavy braking before a frontal collision changes the car’s pitch, as well as the seat positions of the occupants, so that the basic setup of the car is substantially altered compared to the vehicle’s static state. Messring's newly developed M=Brake System takes this fact into account and allows a simulation of the exact deceleration process and impact. As a result, the data recorded is much closer to reality and enables development of the best possible occupant protection.

The trailing M=Brake sled is installed into Messring’s MicroTRACK rail tethered within the test object – either a sled or a vehicle – via a pushrod. It comes with all necessary components, which are a servohydraulic valve, a control unit, an accumulator, a tank and a pump. The M=Brake system can be triggered and controlled via a trailing cable connection with a variety of different pre-set brake profiles. It is suitable for vehicles or sleds with a maximum weight of 5.2 tons (including the payload) at 0.8g of deceleration and a maximum speed of 100km/h, assuming sufficient track length is available.
