Impedance measurement

TestSens SoundTube, a new impedance and sound transmission loss measurement tube, will be the centerpiece of the Bias Mühendislik stand at Automotive Testing Expo 2019. The new device is compliant with ISO 10534-2, ASTM E1050 and ASTM E2611 standards. Its software determines absorption coefficient, reflection coefficient, surface impedance, material characteristic impedance, and propagation wavenumber; it also determines insulation properties as transmission loss.
By means of the Champoux-Allard-Lafarge model (JCAL), characterization tools extract intrinsic properties from the measurements such as porosity, airflow resistivity, tortuosity, viscous characteristic length, thermal characteristic length, and static thermal permeability. These are primarily used by acoustic CAE software, making TestSens SoundTube a complete solution. Bias Muhendislik also produces custom test systems for homologations and fatigue durability, as well as earthquake shaking tables.
