Advanced sensor array for aerodynamic testing
Texys Group

The Texense APASS (Absolute Pressure Aero Skin Sensor) is an advanced sensor array for aerodynamic testing applications. It is light, flexible and sits flush on complex aerodynamic surfaces due to its low-profile 3mm thickness. It is manufactured using a patented process, encapsulating an array of 16 absolute pressure and temperature sensors on a flexible strip, ideal for measuring pressure and temperature gradients over aerodynamic surfaces.

The APASS offers high performance capabilities with up to 140Hz data rate and IP67 protection. It uses either CAN 2.0 or CAN FD protocol with 2% resolution up to 16 pressure and temperature points on wings, floors, sidepods and splitters. Key features include high accuracy ±0.5mbar; fast 140Hz data transfer; wide measurement range, from 260 to 1,260mbar; and a sealed, shockproof, rugged design.

Texys Group is a specialist in embedded sensors under constrained environments. Its patented TM-Fast technologies are instrumented bolts for connected assemblies, designed for monitoring tightening loads and predictive maintenance. They combine the traditional use of strain gauges with an innovative installation in the bolt’s head. Proven advantages include the measurement of clamp load in bolted joints while preserving the bolts’ mechanical characteristics.

In addition, the measurement is accessible via wireless interrogation with NFC technology for quick checks of the tightening tension and when the screws are wired to data acquisition systems for dynamic analysis. Thus, TM-Fast screws are intended for uses as varied as predictive maintenance of sensitive assemblies, the design of complex systems where loads measurement complements mechanical calculations, and product validation, by analyzing behavior in the bolted joint. Key features include advanced connectivity, with three technologies available; applicability to many bolt diameters (from M4 to M33 bolts); specific strain gauge design for installation in the bolt’s head; accuracy of 1% of full scale on the assembly tension; EU, US, China, Japan patented technology.
