Testing, simulation and safety solutions
MTS Systems Corporation

This year, MTS Systems will exhibit state-of-the-art solutions to the automotive industry’s most daunting test and simulation challenges.

For durability testing, MTS will highlight the new Model 329i 6DOF spindle-coupled road simulator. The Model 329i can employ a variety of digital interfaces (EtherCAT, CANbus and more) to integrate seamlessly with active and semi-active vehicle systems. A refined kinematic design, up to 80Hz road input, and superior closed-loop control with minimal latency deliver optimal test accuracy.

In vehicle dynamics, the focus will be on the new MTS Passenger Car K&C System. Purpose built for precise and repeatable passenger car and SUV suspension measurement, it leverages proven, best-in-class MTS technology and can be deployed for a full spectrum of kinematics and compliance deflection measurement applications: characterizing suspension and steering systems, benchmarking and setting development targets, verifying suspension models, evaluating design changes, and diagnosing problems.

The MTS exhibit will also profile new tools for optimizing lab safety and efficiency. The new MTS Series 295 Isolation Hydraulic Service Manifold (ISHM) provides smooth, controlled transitions of hydraulic pressure between HPU and test system to enhance safety and control. The manifold meets Performance Level c (PLc) requirements for human safety and is able to incorporate MTS Safeguard Technology to upgrade to PLd and PLe.

New MTS SmartService technology provides access to test system maintenance, repair, calibration, technical manuals and other critical service information at the test system. The MTS SmartService package includes near-field communication stickers for storing test system information and a tablet for accessing and reading the information.

The MTS exhibit will also include information on recent additions to the company’s evolving core of advanced measurement, motion and control technologies. These include SWIFT EVO wheel force transducers from MTS subsidiary PCB Piezotronics Inc, as well as 6DOF electromechanical motion platforms from newly acquired E2M Technologies BV.
