With its line of bidirectional DC power sources, Chroma is responding to the growing need for test equipment that can be used for the design validation and testing of vehicle-to-grid charging technology. The 62000D series of bidirectional DC power sources complements the company’s 61800 regenerative grid simulators.
The 62000D units provide 5kW, 10kW and 15kW at 100V to 1,800V. Up to 150kW can be achieved when units are used in parallel. The 62000D can both sink and source current, providing both a power supply (source) and an electronic load (sink) in one 3U high unit. This eliminates the need to purchase separate instruments. Ideal test applications include 48V HEV motor inverter testing, DC-DC converters, onboard chargers, and other power conversion systems.
