Miniature multichannel datalogger
Dytran

Conducting shock and vibration evaluations of various vehicle components is necessary to validate long-term durability and performance. This type of testing requires the use of high-quality sensors and dataloggers that can deliver accurate data.

Dytran, a leading manufacturer of piezoelectric accelerometers, VC MEMS sensors and vibration recorders, has launched a new economical and portable datalogger that provides a convenient solution for performing various tests involving IEPE transducers.

The 4600A1 VibraCorder is a three-channel datalogger that can capture data from single-axis or triaxial IEPE accelerometers, dynamic force sensors, pressure sensors and impulse hammers. Model 4600A1 can sample simultaneously on three channels at up to 25,000Hz for more than 10 hours. Each channel provides IEPE signal conditioning with AC coupling and 2mA constant current with a 19V compliance voltage. It features a unique optical synchronization method – in addition to the conventional cable method – that allows multiple units to simultaneously record when stacked on top of each other, allowing users to expand their channel count as their testing needs change.

Model 4600A1 is packaged in a compact, ruggedized aluminum package. Units are IP64 rated for protection from the ingress of dust and splashing water. The 4600A1 can be mounted with either the provided mounting screws or integral high-strength rare earth magnets. Powered by an internal rechargeable LiPo battery, units can record the data autonomously or be powered by an external power supply through a USB port. The small size enables users to operate the 4600A1 in areas where instrumentation space is limited.

Dytran supplies a free, easy-to-navigate software package that allows users to configure the datalogger acquisition settings stored on the micro SD card. Users can also view, process and export the recorded data to a variety of industry-standard formats to facilitate further analysis.
