Large air gap precision speed sensor

Discover more about Sensitec’s new speed sensor technology at the expo. The system is designed for highly dynamic non-contact measuring of the rotational speed of a ferromagnetic toothed wheel, offering high flexibility in target gear tooth pitch and enabling an air gap of up to 5mm.
The sensor itself consists of a compact sensor head (10mm in diameter x 22mm in length) with a magnetoresistive element and permanent magnet, plus a remote processing unit, which is primarily used to amplify the analog signal and convert it to TTL level. Both units are accommodated in a solid, sealed aluminum housing.
Its user outputs are open-end wires, but the unit can also be customized to specific connectors, if required. The sensor exhibits minimal temperature dependence and its operation is not affected by dirt or oil. Analog signal amplitude is independent of the rotational speed.
