EMC testing in India
Global Automotive Research Centre (GARC)
The Electro Magnetic Competence (EMC) facility at GARC consists of two absorber-lined shielded enclosures (ALSEs), which are vehicle semi-anechoic chambers – VSAC0 and VSAC1. The VSAC0 chamber is 30 x 20 x10m with a 4x4 chassis dynamometer integrated on an 11m-diameter turntable. The VSAC1 chamber is 20 x12 x8m with a 4x4 chassis dynamometer integrated on a 6m-diameter turntable. Both chambers are lined with absorbing material and are capable of testing automobiles at radio frequencies from 10kHz to 40GHz.
The RF instrumentation includes test setups for performing radiated emission (RE) and radiated immunity (RI) tests on whole vehicles and subsystems. Instruments are capable of performing radiated emission tests up to 40GHz and radiated immunity tests up to 18GHz. Automotive testing can be performed according to AIS004, CISPR12, CISPR 25, ISO, ECE and OEM standards.
