Dynomerk Controls, a specialist in customized dynamometers, recently provided the Indian Army with a turnkey testing solution for the power pack of a new self-propelled tracked howitzer (SPH) tank. The project also involved training in how to use the dyno. This comprehensive solution is the

first of its kind in India and the sixth in the world. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed to ensure efficient testing as per international standards.

The system uses three AC servomotor dynos with regenerative configuration to recirculate electrical power. This offers significant power savings over the years. The test system can dynamically impart forces to simulate operating conditions encountered during actual field operations.

It can test the performance of the engine and fully automatic transmission to ensure they meet safety and operational requirements during deployment in the field.
